Flight A top 3

Today’s winner in the A flight is Dave Dean, with a net score of 74. Perry Variano took second place with a net score of 75. Jeff Burrell and John Zoffka both finished with a net score of 76. Jeff secured third place. John received the “Atta Boy” award, determined by a scorecard playoff.

Flight B top 3

Jim Foster secured 1st place in the B flight with a net score of 69. He also earned the lowest net for the event. Fred Baldwin followed in 2nd place with a net score of 73. Jeff Darbut and Dr. Douglas Walsh tied with net scores of 74. In a scorecard playoff, Jeff claimed 3rd place, while Dr. Doug received the “Atta Boy.”

Flight A top 3

Neal Fisel dominated the field by 6 strokes with an impressive 66 net score, no easy feat on the challenging Kokopelli course. First place and low net honors go to Neal—well done! Dr. Doug Walsh and Darrell Ruehle both finished with 72 nets, with Doug taking 2nd and Darrell 3rd after a scorecard playoff. Al Dan and Tom Hebert tied at 73 nets, sharing the Atta Boy recognition.

2026 VGA signature event is coming. The Players Open (TPO) at the end of May. Schedule now on Golf Genius.

Dates: Saturday, 5/30/2026 & Sunday, 5/31/2026
Location: Gold Canyon, AZ
Event: Annual TPO Memorial Tournament
Courses/Rates: Saturday = Dinosaur Mtn. ($128.57 includes taxes and range balls @
9:30 AM). Sunday = Sidewinder ($89.36 includes taxes and range balls @ 8:30 AM)
Format: 2-day Total Net Score Event, Open to All VGA Members
Payout: $1,200 total payout to 10 places in both 1st & 2nd flights (20 total places paid)
MORE INFO: Saturday is our normal day-money event, awarding Big Dog points.
Sunday will also be a separate net event (no Big Dog points)
Entry Fees: $15.00/each Saturday & Sunday (NOTE: There is not a separate entry fee
for the 2-day TPO event.) An optional $10.00 side pot will be available.

Available Hotel Accommodations: Gold Canyon Golf Resort & Spa.

Dear VGA Members,
We welcome you to VGA’s annual TPO, Memorial Two-Day Tournament, located @ Gold
Canyon Resort and Spa. The event is open to members only, and guests are welcome
but ineligible for prize money. Net total score event with the Treasury paying out $1,200 over 10 places in each flight. Gold Canyon Golf Resort and Spa gives members the option to stay & play or simply participate in a single-day event if preferable. Tournament includes both Gold Canyon Resort courses: Dinosaur Mountain on Saturday, May 30th, & concluding on Sidewinder, Sunday, May 31st. In addition to the TPO, we will hold our normal day-money event w/Big Dog Points on Saturday only. Entry fees are standard $15.00, paying the top three spots in both flights, skins & CaPs. Sunday’s event follows the same format w/o Big Dog Points. Optional side pots are offered both days. PLEASE NOTE: There is NO ENTRY FEE into the TPO 2-day event. Rest assured, Head Pro states both courses will be in fantastic condition during this time. The beauty of the golf courses is top-notch & worth the trip alone if never played.
