Flight A top 3
Ron Landon takes another notch on his golf belt. He shot 73 net for 1st place in A flight. In the 9:28 group, Lonny Rakes had some trouble in the traps. This may have cost him the victory. He finished second with a 74 net. Jim Cox matched Lonny’s 74 net but claimed third in a scorecard playoff. Steve Richter rounded it out with a 75 net, earning the Atta Boy for A Flight.
Flight B top 3
Gary Vance, a two-time VGA Club champ and the money man at Monday Golf at San Marcos, claimed the A Flight win today as well. He posted a net 72 and snagged low net honors. Warren Meehan followed closely with a net 73 for second place money, while Wayne Fox from the 9:28 group took third with a steady net 74. Despite carding an 8 and a 9 on both nines, Harley Ewing proudly earned the Atta Boy for the 9:28 group.
