John Adair and Doug Rankin tied at 69 at Lookout Mountain today. John took 1st place on a scorecard playoff. Doug got 2nd place. Jim Bays, Ken Baca and Al Dan tied at 71. Jim got 3rd place on another scorecard playoff. Ken and Dan were forced to share the Atta-Boy award. Sorry fellas. The rain held off so it was a cool and enjoyable day except for dealing with the cruelty of Lookout Mtn. When you play well here you deserve much credit for doing a great job. Next VGA event, Saturday May 21 2016 Los Caballeros (2) 8:00 AM $ 40.00 in Wickenburg, AZ. If you haven’t played it, it is a great old Arizona Golf course. So get out and play it. It’s worth it.
A change of venue for the June 4th Wickenburg Ranch (a private course) event, it will be closed for aeration and other repairs. Rescheduled Wickenburg ranch for July 30, Sat, 8 am, $ 45 without a shirt, $ 60 if you want the shirt. Look for it when 3rd quarter schedule comes out. We have scheduled the old time slot for Quintero golf club. Directions view here, they caution against trusting your GPS so you may want to check it out if you aren’t sure where it is. It is past Lake Pleasant on the Carefree highway. We had 34 players signed up to play Wickenburg Ranch and will require that you sign up for Quintero. Greens at Quintero have been punched and sanded, but still a nice track. VGA apologizes for this change but the owners of a private course follow their own trail. We were just now informed.

Tony Dalton is the finalist for Saturday’s competition and John Pierce “Mr Cheese if you please” is Wednesday’s finalist. These two will finish off by playing each other again in match play to capture the President’s cup. Neal Fisel who was beaten by Tony last Saturday will get 3rd place. Having observed Tony and John play last Wednesday for the Wednesday crown, it would be worthwhile to be a fly on the golf cart. Let the match begin soon and may the better player win. And they did finally get it done. Earth and Fire came together and no quarter was given. Tony Dalton prevailed 5-4 and sent John Pierce home from Dove Valley defeated in match play but not in life. Like I said wish I could have been there. Tony nice job man, you are taking home all the gold.
Steve Richter scores a Hole-in-one in AGA competition.
