June, 8th, 2016….The Boulders Club, a semi-private country club for members, resort guests, and daily fee players, features a 6,811 yard, par 72, championship North Course and a 6,726 yard, par 71 championship South Course, both designed by Jay Morrish. The Boulders is world renowned as one of the finest golf resorts in the western United States. The courses are considered the most demanding in the Southwest, and are known for their rugged beauty. The course offers 36 challenging holes, golf pro shop, fitness center, restaurant, and a residential home development. Boulders North Course: The North course, the older of the two courses, features spectacular views of Black Mountain as the course meanders through the Boulders community. Both courses are built right into the desert foothills and offer breathtaking panoramas – including stunning boulder formations, striking Sonoran Desert sunsets and natural desert terrain. Keep your eyes open because desert wildlife is often visible during play. Every day, golfers are surprised to see a bobcat, rabbits, coyotes or a javelina while hunting for a wayward shot. In short, your experience should be a scenic and natural wonder.

Next up for VGA, Saturday, June 16, 2018, Talking Sticks / (O’odham-North Course) + 6:56 AM 50.00.

The Course: “When commissioned to design Talking Stick Golf Club, our charge was to create two golf courses to accommodate public play yet each decidedly different, with respect to playing characteristics. Talking Stick Golf Club’s O’odham Course (formerly North Course), with its broad, angular holes, rewards thoughtful play through the rise of its many options according to one’s level of skill. Its low profile, slightly crowned greens and close-cropped approaches encourage running as well as aerial assaults. The Piipaash Course (formerly South Course) with its tree lined fairways and raised greens defended at the sides offers a more straightforward style of play. It presents its challenge and strategy in an open and clear-cut fashion. Whichever course one chooses or prefers, it was our desire to portray golf in a traditional sense, which quietly merges with its tranquil desert surroundings.” – Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw.
