Windy in Wickenburg? Jeff Rhodes takes the win with 67 net. Hot on his heels for 2nd Lloyd Snively a 68 net. Tied at 70 net, Danny Campos (with 5 birdies) gets 3rd on a scorecard playoff, with Tim Haight taking home the Atta-Boy for the day.   Los Caballeros Golf Club 5-21-2016

Do not forget, if you’re not playing  the Green Valley Invitational on the 28th  please remember the local event at San Marcos golf course on the 28th too. Signup ASAP. For those of you that like to use the printed calendar, we have an updated calendar, please be sure you use the one that is rev. May 19, 2016.  That is the most current one.  You can find it on the VGA schedule page. There are some minor time changes and one venue change. VGAs next event is Wednesday May 25 2016 Wigwam (gold) 8:00 AM $ 42.00. Be there.


Daniel Lewis Danforth

JDan Danforthanuary 16, 1936 – January 29, 2016
Daniel Lewis Danforth, 80, born January 16, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on January 29, 2016 in Mesa, Arizona. Dan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 2082 in Mesa and also an avid golfer and certified scuba diver. Dan was a plumber by trade and worked for the California Plumbers Union – Local 342 for 55 years. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia L. Danforth; son, Steve and Gloria Danforth; step-children Sherry Roethig, Deb Hubbard and Rick and Chuck Cliff as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an active member of the Willie Men’s Club at WAFB until he joined the VGA  during the late 1990’s , he played at every eastside VGA tournament until 2011 when he retired from golf. I have personally played with Dan on several occasions and enjoyed his Military stories. Old VGA golfers are like old Soldiers like Dan, they never die they just fade away.
