Saturday, July 29th, 2017 / TPC Champions course

Rivaling its famous sister course in both beauty and playability, the Randy Heckenkemper-designed Champions Course offers an ideal desert golf experience. Built on the former site of TPC Scottsdale’s Desert Course, the layout was completely revamped in 2007 to flow seamlessly within the naturally rugged terrain, meandering between natural ravines and through picturesque foothills. The course was crafted to balance strategy with design, so as not to favor any one type of play. Each hole can be played a multitude of ways – providing golfers of all skill levels with a challenging experience that can be significantly different each time they play. A quartet of challenging finishing holes adds an acclaimed ending stretch that promises to leave even the best players with goose bumps.

So it’s like old times again, Bill Heller takes 1st  place as his vision improved enough to find his ball most of the time and he scored an excellent 64 net to out duel his closest competitor by 5 strokes. Way to go Bill. Tim Haight was that guy as he took 2nd place with a 69 net score. Getting back in the saddle again eh Tim? Larry Burton ties Rusty Silverman at 70 net for 3rd place, which he takes on a scorecard playoff. The Golden Boy is stuck with the Atta-a-Boy. Next up Bear Creek Wednesday. Rest of the field’s scores below.

Next up for VGA, Wednesday August 2, 2017 – Shot Gun Bear Creek 7:15:00 AM $33.00.
