Saturday, August 27, 2016-Dove Valley Ranch

Unlike many of Arizona's "target" golf courses, Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club is player friendly, with manicured transition areas that allow its guests to recover without penalty. RTJ Jr. also put a premium on strategy and variety, which translates into a challenging yet refreshing round of golf. Factor in service that is second to none, and no wonder this lush layout on the outskirts of Phoenix is so popular with locals and visitors alike.

Tim Haight takes another first place finish and captures the money with a 4 stroke advantage (64) over the second place finisher Tom Hebert (68). Tim also shot past the field for 1st place on the 2016 Saturday Big Dogs Contest. This guy can not be slowed down and good for you Tim. As stated, taking second with a very respectable 68 net Tom Hebert. Nice work Tom. Tied for third at 73 nets, Dan Clark and Dan Christiansen the Atta-Boy kid. Dan Clark  won third with the scorecard playoff. Dan Christiansen got the Atta-Boy, again.  Not bad for a two Dan showing. Rest of the story below.

The Legacy Golf Club, rich in heritage and history, is an 18-hole par 71 championship golf course designed by renowned golf course architect Gary Panks. Located on what was once Dwight B. Heard’s 7,500-acre ranch, the golf club is rich in Arizona heritage and history. Taking great pride in preserving and integrating many of the historical structures and monuments, our 18-hole championship golf course offers a unique look and an added opportunity to experience some Arizona history and of the Heard legacy, from which the golf club takes its name. The original two-grain silos, built in 1902, still remain along the 18th fairway and were once the tallest structures in Maricopa County. The Sierra Vista House, which marks the 1st tee, was visited on occasion in the early 1900’s by Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa. Come make your own history at the Legacy Golf Club!
